Sub-mandibular Lymphadenitis

A female patient today complained of a painful little swelling just under the angle of her left jaw. No wounds, no mouth sores, nil gum swellings. I sent her home with no medication, having reassured her of the likely zero consequences of the condition.

Sudden Unconsciousness - No Head Scans Available

You know when a medical emergency has arrived when the noise of several heavy, clumsy feet grow louder and louder towards you. So it was, as I sat in my consulting room three days ago, when this young man was rushed in semi-conscious. The accompanying elder sister calmly narrated how they had both eaten lunch at home before setting out on their journey to a popular open market quite close to the hospital where I work - when he began complaining of feeling ill; later leaning over on a stall just before passing-out on the ground. He was "drowsy" but rousable when I called out his name. I pondered what the diagnosis could be as the nurse gave the steroid (Hydrocortisone 200mg) shot through the i.v. line secured - no recent fever or complaints of ill-health whatsoever nor was there any history of Seizure Disorders. Blog Neglect Blues... Herniorrhaphy That Went Like The Breeze.

I feel bad having not posted a single health gist or any sort of matter at all on this blog for a long, long while. And I cannot think of a good enough excuse that could justify this huge neglect. Except perhaps to promise you that my life in the past months had been roller-coaster like indeed, often having to multi-task in a not so well-coordinated manner - but then, doesn't that just describe the average human Joe or Jide that's surviving on todays planet Earth! I performed a Herniorrhapphy today that went like the breeze - quick-paced with little to no hitches. I started by utililizing local anaesthetic, then, after finding the hernial sac, finished off with Ketamine intravenous anaesthesia.
